Burns Maendel Consulting Engineers Ltd. (BMCE) is a privately owned consulting firm located in the
heart of Manitoba’s Westman region. We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our expanding
Municipal Engineering Department and contribute to a broad range of client-centered designs that reflect
our rural-based expertise and practical, solutions-driven approach.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian four-year college or
university
Registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with a Canadian engineering licensing body, with the ability to
obtain registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) immediately
Summer, co-op, or early career experience in the Canadian consulting environment would be
considered an asset
A valid Class 5 driver’s license
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Description:

What will a day at BMCE look like:

Develop engineering solutions for municipal infrastructure including water supply, sanitary
sewer, stormwater systems, and roadways
Provide technical direction on a wide range of civil and process-related projects from proposal
stage through to commissioning
Prepare technical reports, regulatory submission packages, tender documents, cost estimates, and
contracts
Maintain effective communication with clients and contractors during design, tendering, and
construction phases
Supervise and support technologists and junior team members on project tasks
Manage multiphase projects from concept to construction
Participate in fieldwork, site meetings, contractor interaction, and contract administration (e.g.,
progress claims, reports, specifications)
