The Town of Souris required engineering services for the renewal of one of their downtown avenues. As a commercial hub adjacent to a tourist-gathering greenspace and recreational area, the renewal encompassed storm sewer, road design, walkways, landscaping, streetlights, and an overall streetscape improvement.

BMCE completed a site assessment for the corridor to gather specific information in order to make reasonable recommendations and design decisions. BMCE worked with the community to identify the priorities and aesthetic goals of the residents and business owners, and optimize the safety and accessibility of the avenue. BMCE conducted numerous investigations to identify the technical parameters of the project, then prepared two conceptual designs for the municipality to select from.

BMCE completed the detailed design of the watermain replacement, the sewer main lining, the roadway realignment, the storm sewer design, streetscape and sidewalk design, parking redesign, landscaping, and lighting. BMCE then oversaw the construction and installation of the works.
