Brandon University – Parking Lot 11 Reconstruction

Design and reconstruction of parking lot 11 at Brandon University.

The existing asphalt surface in parking lot 11 had reached the end of its useful life and was in very poor condition. The asphalt had disintegrated and the existing parking fence, electrical, and lighting were in need of a complete replacement.

BMCE executed an assessment that included a geotechnical investigation, topographical survey, and land drainage sewer televising to be utilized in the development of a design for the reconstruction of the existing parking lot. Upon completion of the assessment, BMCE executed the detailed design, including new landscaped islands, land drainage sewer replacement, improved site lighting, base and asphalt construction, and landscaping of the site. BMCE was responsible for the design, tendering, and construction administration of the project through to completion.

The project incorporated recommendations from a geotechnical drilling investigation to ensure the proposed asphalt surfacing will maximize its useful service life.
