Transformation of a field airport to a functional, paved runway capable of landing larger aircraft and the Air Ambulance.

Local municipalities and concerned citizens took up the charge to upgrade the municipal airport facilities to a standard that would accommodate the Air Ambulance planes, as well as stimulate the local economy by accommodating larger aircraft and fuel facilities that would generate revenue.

Optimizing the prevailing wind direction with the existing topography, BMCE prepared a site design suitable for the larger aircraft and future commercial plans. BMCE provided the detailed design for grading and drainage, earthworks, pavement, lights and signaling, as well as provided coordination support for necessary land acquisition and approvals. BMCE generated construction drawings and specifications, and was on site for grade control and materials testing.
